Dishwasher woes

Good Looking dishwasher in smudge proof stainless steel. It was working well and then just 2 years after installation my machine is making the loudest noise. It sounds like the motor grinding. The manual says dont use when it makes loud noises. I went through all checklists but it still grinds and cannot be used. So now we are on LGs timeline at our cost to get it fixed as we approach a long weekend with no dishwasher. Ridiculous considering I bought an LG a bundle of appliances for a newly built house and you expect appliances to last. Especially for a household of 2 people. I see this model LDT567835 is no longer sold. I wonder why.

I bought 3 yr ago with extended warranty and as soon as extended b warranty was out the piece of crap fell apart. Showed a 10 yr warranty on motor and they would not cover it. Have been 2 months without trying get parts and such. Customer service is terrible and was hung up on a couple of times. Will never buy LG again.

We bought our house a couple years ago and learned our dishwasher was only 5 years young. It was out of warranty even though it was within the timeframe of the warranty and couldnt get anyone out from LG to cover it or come out to look at the leaking/draining issue. We ended up replacing it and selling for under market value. Also the Wi-Fi and buttons were super touchy the whole time we had it and was super frustrating

We purchased this a little over 4 years ago and it has been very reliable. for us. The best part was there was an issue with the rack and it was under warranty and their customer service was amazing. Having their support will definitely make us purchase another LG in the future. We also have a stove and refrigerator and those have also been very reliable.

Huge disappointment

The LG appliances in our kitchen were purchased by the previous owners of our home in February 2020. I was excited to see LG appliances when we purchased the home in September 2022 as I had always heard good things. What a disappointment when just over three years later the motor on our dishwasher had to be replaced. And it took over two weeks to get parts and service. Only two people in the home have used the dishwasher since it was purchased so it has NOT been overused. In addition I need to make another call to have my LG gas stovetop looked at as one of the burners isnt working. It is also just over three years old Im keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with our refrigerator Im giving three stars as I do like the look of the appliances and their features. Im just not sure about the quality.

Very Quiet

Machine is very quiet works well as far as cleaning dishes. Have a problem with the dish racks the lower rack has tines that lay down to make it easier to load bigger items. The rubber insulation is pretty bad the tines are rusting from the inside and a few have broken off. One of the sides on these adjustable pieces rusted completely out and the insulation is still intact. Middle rack has a section that is rusting and the insulation has come off. This is located on upper right edge that doesnt even come in contact with the dishes. Did I mention that it is very quiet? I also find it amusing that nobody at LG can provide me with a parts breakdown to order replacement parts. But Sears of all places has individual small blow ups on their site.

I have had the dishwasher for 3.5 years. we have called for service 3 times. the last two repairs were oe and ae error codes. those repairs which replaced the drain switch and main control board did not fix the issue. in addition the dishwasher is now leaking. I have to make another service call request. very disappointing unit

Not as good as expected

We had our dishwasher for a little over a year. The main circuit panel fried from moisture getting into the door shell and it also took out the main control panel. The cost to replace it was cheaper than fixing it due to the dishwasher being two months out of warranty. Plus it was kinda noisy when it was working.

I loved this dishwasher until about 3 weeks ago when it quit. Dishwasher is only 3 years old and have been told by many that I should get way more than 3 years out of one. LG customer service is a joke I called several times and was given several different answers none of which helped me to fix my issue or try even to resolve their broken piece of equipment. Finally found an authorized dealer who is coming out in a week to try and fix it.

Great... when it worked

We bought this dishwasher about three years ago when we moved into our home. About a year ago we had an issue where we needed to make some renovations to our kitchen nothing to do with the dishwasher and the dishwasher was not being used for about 4 months. When we hooked the dishwasher back up it started to have issues. Loud noises and eventually stopped working altogether. We had an appliance repair person take a look at it and let us know that it was the direct drive motor that had gone out. The parts were all still under warranty so we reached out to LG to have the part sent to us. This is where the big issues started. We called the number given multiple times and spent well over 10+ hours on the phone total to get the part. After roughly 3 months we were finally able to get the part sent out. It was a huge pain to get the correct information and understand the process. LG did not make that easy or communicate well what we needed to do and what they would be doing. We still need to wait and see if this will fix the issue.

We bought this LG dishwasher in 2019 for our new house. It worked great and still does the only issue we had was the lower drawer rack began rusting after about a year. Several of the tops of the tines popped off coating and the metal rusted. After 2 years the upper rack got a rusted spot as well. I contacted LG and found out that the racks have a 5 year warranty so they shipped us both new racks. Very happy with the service.

Pump Broke after 2nd year

The pump started making a very loud noise and when we tried to get it repaired the repair people ordered the wrong part. It has been two months but at least it still clean although it is very loud.

Takes getting used to

I like it now but you have to dry dishes overnight because these new machines have no heating element. If you want a hotter wash you have to turn up the setting on your hot water heater If you are entertaining there is a hack: when the washing cycle is over throw a dry dish towel in the top rack to absorb some of the moisture and quickly close the door to kerp the heat in. These whacky young engineers who give us washing machines without agitators and dishwashers without heating elements do not have the customer and their family in mind. Ungreen products did a better job cleaning. But LG is as good as you can get.

Overall it works well. However the motor died less than 3 years after purchase. The LED display is not lighting up some segments and the other segments are dimming. LG customer support for repairs is not great - missing appointments and the phone system is not easy to navigate.

Flawed Experience

I bought this dishwasher 2 years ago. We love the third rack. However LGs 10 year warranty on the direct drive motor is complete trash. After 2 years our motor went out. LG wouldnt do a thing about it. Had to replace it for nearly the cost of a brand new dishwasher. While we do like our dishwasher I worry about its longevity.

It was great while it lasted

I bought all LG appliances for my house and have had great experiences with it all. The dishwasher washed and dried all the dishes well. It had adjustable racks and I really loved the extra third rack for silverware. Parts of the racks did start to rust after 1.5 years. The dishwasher produced a burnt smell within this month and died after less than 3 years Our circulating drain motor was burnt and I did see others having this issue. I wish LG would cover this fix and help towards another LG dishwasher but most likely Ill be looking for another brand.

Does a great job

I purchased this dishwasher almost 4 years ago. The bottom rack started eroding one of the coding areas and then the divider would not stay up. I called and spoke to customer service and they sent me a new one. The only other issue I have had is that the light telling me how many minutes or the end does not work properly. Other than that the dishwasher is great Id like the way it organizes the dishes and it does a great job at getting them clean

Very quiet dishwasher.

Mostly positive feelings about this dishwasher. Its very quiet The stainless steel inside tub and the insulation work well to keep the noise low. Our kitchen is open to the living room and we can watch tv and not even notice the dishwasher running. Negatives it would sometimes stop shortly after the cycle began. My wife thought it was broken. I called customer service and they said it was most likely due to sensor that detects water cleanliness If you scrape AND rinse the dishes before loading them the dishwasher thinks you are trying to wash clean dishes Now we just scape them and it works fine. Also the bottom rack developed a bad rust area around where two of the plastic coated basket wires are welded together. I called customer service and they are shipping a Ned lower basket for free. It helped that I had registered the unit so they had a record of the purchase.
